How To Create An Online Journal
Any free platform will allow you to create an online journal such as WordPress. If you’re looking to keep it private you can always go the free route. Want people to read it and build a supportive community? You can certainly use the frugal options and upgrade later if you’re getting plenty of views. That just ensures more flexibility in terms of running your own ads, avoiding WP ads, storage space and such.
- go to WordPress and sign up (Please Note this is the DOT com not DOT org)
- get familiar with the platform
- install a theme, necessary plugins
- start your first blog post
- take your time writing and learning how to navigate your new space
- publish your content (but not before proofreading)
- share to social media if you wish
I will do more in depth tutorials on WP if you need, just ask!

As you log into your WordPress dashboard each week to write your articles you will get the hang of it and actually like it. It can be frustrating if you’re not a tech savvy person, but don’t give up. It’s essentially just finding a love for typing online rather than writing with a pen.
Over on the left side (after you sign in) you will see the POST, ADD NEW. That’s where you’ll be writing everything. Let me know if you need any assistance. Depending on what theme you install (under THEMES), you’ll have a pretty easy layout as they’ve all been updated to blocks. I can redirect you to some awesome guides if you need.
