Many people often fear the word declutter because it sounds like such a daunting household chore (we ditched that word a long time ago friends). That’s the first step in crafting a beautiful relationship with letting go. It takes a lot of mindset work, not just physical cleaning. Today, we’re sharing 3 simple decluttering hacks to boost your minimalist game. And by the way,

you don’t have to be a full blown minimalist to reap the benefits of decluttering

- Mindset Transformation– Ditch the hoarding mentality by changing the way you look at clutter. If you’re feeling exhausted and overwhelmed just looking at the messy pile up, you’re going to ignore and procrastinate the ‘so called’ chore. Instead of saying CHORES, begin believing it’s just a lifestyle. Use words like ‘TO Do’s’, Tidying Up, Daily Tasks…anything that doesn’t mention the word chore because the words itself make us not want to tackle it.
- Create Vision & Mood Boards– When you constantly visualize what you want your space to look like, you begin to take action. This simple decluttering hack allows you to see the outcome. Type in MINIMALIST LIVING ROOM or COZY BEDROOM in Canva or Pinterest. Now save some photos that resemble what you want your future home to look like. This hack only works if you delete all the old photos that seem to be taking up space, so don’t forget to declutter your gadgets, emails and socials too. You can also type in MOOD BOARD and then create the vision you have. Do this weekly until you get some ideas to boost motivation.
- Remove The Blocks– Clutter robs us from moving forward in so many ways. Think about what is blocking you right now from achieving your goals, things you want to accomplish that never seem like they get done. Are you in a state of constant funk? Do you feel trapped, smothered, overwhelmed? Is there something or someone who is preventing you from getting ahead? These are all things that are standing in the way; physically and emotionally. The most simple way to start manifesting your desires, wants and needs is to declutter all the physical crap that’s taking up too much space in your home/work space.
Start small with a quick 3-5 minute decluttering challenge each day for 30 days straight. This builds a habit and forms a better relationship with the task at hand. It must be done. There’s no more pushing it off. Do it. Set your mind at ease. Attract the good you deserve.
